The genuine Hermann Oak leather is treated with a series of acids and bases that change the pH and structural nature of the leather called ferrous acetate tannin reaction dyeing and intumescent flame-retardant impregnation that makes the leather stronger, midnight black color, antimicrobial, antifungal, water, mold and fire resistant while retaining its supple, smooth finish. My Lucky Firefighter Chin Strap is stitched with Nomex thread.
